The Most Expensive Asset at Every Conference Goes to Waste

Why conference knowledge systematically disappears – and how that is changing

The Most Expensive Asset at Every Conference Goes to Waste

In early May, the Rise of AI 2026 was running on my screen. Ten years of European AI ecosystem, 300 founders, researchers and decision-makers in Berlin, two days packed with content – as a live stream.

A few days later, once all sessions were available in the on-demand archive, I typed a question into MEETYOO's Chat with Webcast: "AI and Germany – does that work together?"

Three seconds later, I had an answer drawn from six real conference sessions, with timestamps, directly from what 300 experts had said in that room.

Fabian Westerheide, founder of Rise of AI, wrote shortly after under my LinkedIn post: "I have been running Rise of AI for ten years. And for the first time, I actually used the recordings of my own event – to catch up on what I had missed. That says something about the feature."

Conference recordings: why the knowledge disappears afterwards

Fabian's follow-up email to attendees included this: "The KI center of gravity." – that is how one attendee described the conference. That is accurate. But the knowledge generated over two conference days rarely reaches anyone who was not there.

Recordings get uploaded and barely watched again. Nobody re-watches a 45-minute session from the beginning to find an argument that came up somewhere in the middle. Search functions work by session title. Nobody finds the actual content.

Jacqueline Savli, leadership consultant and former CEO, put it this way: "This changes what a conference is fundamentally worth to me. It used to be about being there. Going forward, it might be about being able to access the knowledge that emerged – deliberately, weeks later."

That is exactly where Chat with Webcast comes in.

One question, six sessions, three seconds

Back to my question: "AI and Germany – does that work together?"

The answer: Europe is betting on Sophie – sovereign open-source AI models – and the Germany Stack. Technological sovereignty as strategic independence. That was the consensus across multiple sessions and speakers throughout the conference.

Six sources, each with a timestamp, each directly from the sessions and available to hear in the original.

Chat with Webcast: question asked, answer in seconds – with six linked sources directly from the conference sessions.

What surprised me was the feeling: like a conversation with all the speakers at once.

The answers are based exclusively on what was said in the sessions. No external sources, no additions by the model. Every source links directly to the original moment in the video with one click.

How Chat with Webcast works

Chat with Webcast is part of MEETYOO Show. If you know Google's NotebookLM – the tool that lets you query documents – you will understand the concept immediately: the same idea, but for video recordings instead of text documents.

You ask. You get an answer. You see which session it came from.

The AI works exclusively on the content of the linked recordings. Every answer is verifiable, every timestamp clickable. You can request summaries of key points, search for quotes, compare positions from different sessions – all at once, across the entire event's content.

Those searching for "Chat with Video" will find the same feature here.

Data privacy: All processing takes place entirely in Europe. GDPR-compliant, ISO 27001-certified, no data in third-party clouds. For companies working with confidential content, this is not a comfort feature – it is a hard requirement.

Try it yourself: Rise of AI 2026

All recordings from Rise of AI 2026 are publicly accessible and chat-enabled. No registration, no form required.

→ Ask 300 AI experts a question right now

My tip: ask a real question. Something you actually want to know. AI regulation in the EU. Investment climate for AI startups. Open versus proprietary models. Then see which sessions get cited – and click the timestamp.

Chat with Webcast is included in MEETYOO Show's free plan.

What this means for other events

Live events are not going away. The shared moment, the hallway conversation, the energy in the room: that stays.

What happens afterwards can be improved.

Every town hall, every webinar, every product presentation generates knowledge that mostly goes unused after the event. Rarely because nobody cares. Usually because there was no way to access it.

For me, Chat with Webcast is a different way of thinking about the value of video content. A conference no longer ends with the last applause. It begins the moment someone, weeks later, asks the right question and gets an answer.

If you would like to try this for your own webcasts, we would love to show you how it works.
